SimplySiti Dermagic Grand Launching at Sunway Resort & Spa

The event took place at Sunway Resort & Spa Poolside where the decorations- from carpet to the dessert tables were all in purple. In the earlier event, it was entertained by the OsBon (the comedians Mr.Os and Abon) and emceed by Sharifah Shahira (Shera). The food looked nice by I didn't have a chance to taste them :P. The event was flooded with the media from print and electronic media, and even bloggers. I am so proud that I am chosen to be the NEW FACE OF SIMPLYSITI. Alhamdulillah.. :)

OK, for my apperance it was all not my own.. The only i was done was my makeup :)

Keude Haliuh brings early 2012 collection, Ureueng Inong which is inspired by Acheh women garments. The collection is very modest, and can be worn by Muslimah women. Keude Haliuh also has their own hijab collection. The color of material is very bright and more to colour block. The material also from 100% soft cotton which is very breathable, suitable for Asian countries. Love the collection so much!

This is the latest print ad I've done so far for SimplySiti - Dermagic. I've tried the product sample once during the tvc shooting and the texture is very soft and non-oily. And I love the scent! It contains Endorphine from plant (yes, HALAL for sure!) which can boost our happy mood! Good for working women, which can reduce stress level during working in the office, 9-5. yey!

Anyway, this magical product will be launched in early February 2012.

Tutorial #3: How to Become a TVC Talent (Portfolio)

OOoopss.. I forgot to feed in about portfolio, didn't I? My bad!

2. OK, portfolio in simpler language is a collection of your photos. Portfolio is much preferably professionally taken photos such as taken in a studio or taken by professional photographers: either in the studio or outdoor. Usually photographers are brilliant in adjusting the lightings, so even when you are taking photos outdoor, the outcomes will be the same with the photos taken in the studio. In conclusion, your portfolio should be good quality photos, NOT TAKEN BY YOURSELF BY CAMERA PHONE!

3. Usually portfolio only needed minimum 3 photos:
a. Face close-up
b. Mug shot (Half body)
c. Full body

**** If you dont have any contacts to do studio photos, don't hesitate to leave a message or comment. I will try to find photographers or perhaps a studio for you.

How to make a good profile and portfolio:

1. Profile or biodata should be no problem to you guys. It's just a fact or information about yourself. It's like writing a resume for a new job application, but it is more on to your physical details. In addition, if you have exposure to tvc and print ad before, it would be bonus marks for you!

OK, I'm trying to be kind to you guys. I give you a profile template so you can just copy and paste and just fill in your details. But it is just a template! You can add-in any information of yourself if neccessary:)

Hi guys, it's been quite a long time I didn't write in my blog. I've started to feel like writing in this blog since a lot of my friends and acquaintance keep asking me how to become a tvc talent, or at least- to appear in tvc.

Actually it is not very hard to be one of them. Theme: The Bridezilla

This was the first time I involved in photographer's creative photoshoot. It was so much fun: I met new model friends, make up artists and super talented photographers. I love shooting outdoors, but the thing was, I sweat like a cow and I was kinda messing the photos (was perspiring a lot and i messed the makeup *and the wardrobe*!). My body just can't stand the noon heat at the Lake Garden. but the shoot must go on. (LOVE THE PHOTOS A LOADDDD!)

Once again i got a task for Hajaba, called by Puan Mona Din to be a Muslimah model. i wore 5 garments and they were all so pretty i would like to bring home one! i am so happy to say that the makeup was all done by me! i hope you guys like it (after all the genius makeup artists done to me, i learnt from them indirectly :)

Mandailing bride

The Mandailing is a traditional cultural group in Southeast Asia. They are found mainly in the northern section of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. They came under the influence of the Kaum Padri who ruled the Minangkabau of Tanah Datar. As a result, the Mandailing were influenced by Muslim culture and converted to Islam. Previous to their conversion, they practised Hinduism and Parmalim (Batak native religion). There are also a group of Mandailing in Malaysia, especially in the states of Selangor and Perak. They are closely related to theAngkola, who are mixed between Muslim and Christian adherents.

Mandailing bride and the traditional house

The etymology of 'Mandailing' is said to be a coupounding of the words mande, meaning 'mother', and hilang, meaning 'lost'. Thus, the name is said to mean "lost mother". Some research has suggested that the Mandailing are the descendants of the Batak, who migrated to the south before the coming of the Portuguese and Dutch colonisation of Sumatra. There they converted to Islam and intermarried with Minangkabau and the Malay peoples. Mandailing society is patriarchal, employing family names, or marga, in the same manner as the Batak, Simalungun, and Karo. The same marga can be found, such as Lubis, Nasution, Siregar, Hasibuan, Harahap, Dalimunthe (originally from Munthe), Matondang, Rangkuti, Parinduri, Pulungan, Rambe, Daulae(y), Pohan, Batubara (not to be confused with the Batu Bara people from the east coast of Sumatra), Barus and Hutajulu.

The bride is wearing ‘bulang’ (crown of mandailing virgin), gonjong hiasan dada, selendang songket, baju kurung, puttu (arm accesories), pending, keris dan sarung songket. meanwhile, the groom is wearing tengkulok mandailing (or called ‘tukku/happu’ – head gear from beludru), baju teluk belango, puttu (arm accessories), kris, sarung songket sebatas lutut, and long pants.

so, this was the fourth time of photoshoot with Utusan Malaysia. my task was become a model for Make Up For Ever. i was starting my day with kebingungan how to get to Jln Chan Sow Lin. i was trying to get a map by google-ing but the route i got from Google Maps was oh-soooo far! Luckily i asked my lad n he dgn selambe je said: 'Wynn tau tak nak g Berjaya Times Square? ade nampak Penjara Pudu kan b4 Times Square? traffic lite, turn right. then straight sampai next traffic lite, turn right'. oh, that so easy! (but still, i did slight detour mase kat Jln Chan Sow Lin, cari Jalan Lima.. LOL).

the makeup were from the latest (not so latest ;P) HD High Definition collection which consist of HD Microfinish Powder, HD Invisible Cover Concealer, HD Invisible Cover Foundation, HD Microperfecting Primer and Fascinating Lip Gloss to name a few. i never tried this brand of makeup but from my on opinion, Make Up For Ever is cool! i would buy this product one day (bile ade duit =)).

i wasn't intentionally jump into this modelling industry. it was all started when i was being honored to become maid of honor to my good friend back in secondary school, Ami (http://sputnik--sweetheart.blogspot.com). she brought her entourage (her fellow friends and family, her bridal couture designer, Amir Mirza and makeup artist, Afad). we were introduced briefly because we were running out of time for ketibaan pengantin and bersanding. then, after high table lunch with bride and groom and family, we took a breather in the groom's house (and never enough photo snapping). and, right there Amir, Afad and i made a small chat until Amir offered me, 'Wynn nnt i nak pakai model i panggil u eh?' and i was likeeeee, hokayyyy. i thought it was like ajak2 ayam. so i just accepted the offer without any pengharapan. hahaha..

and 3 days after the wedding reception of Ami and Naz, as i was back to my normal routine (research! research! research!) on that one fine evening day, Ami texted me said, 'Wynn, Amir nak u jadi model for my wedding dress. masuk Utusan. u nak tak?' (the sentence has been rephrased. i can't remember word by word =P) i was like, 'Hah? u serious, ami? i gemoklaaaa.. tak muat masuk baju u!!' n we kept on texting until Amir finally called me to offer me to become his model for his designs. at first, i didn't have guts and self-esteem to do the job (SAYA SEDAR DIRI SAYA GEMUK). but, after a long pep talk with Amir, and he convincing me that i can wear his designs (he said his dresses are Medium size, and not Small size or size 00 like Victoria Beckam's vital stats), i was like, Hokayy.. just give it a try =P

The day of the photoshoots was so damn hot! my makeup melted as i was perpiring terribly (Maaf Afad, makeupmu cairrrr!). habis satu kotak tissue nak sental peluh di muka. hahaha! oh, forgot to introduce, the reporter was Kak Meran who came to interview Amir and his collection. She is so motherly and looked so professional (yeah, orang lamo). when the photoshoot was ended, Kak Meran asked for my contact number. she said, 'Asyik muka yg same je, bosan org tgk. lepas ni, akak panggil Wynn la'. i was like, betulke? akak ni tak nampak ke saya ni nak masuk baju pun kene ade org tolong zipkan, puteri lilin plak tu. haha.. sgt takde keyakinan diri =|
